Razor Coast 1, #26: The Fall of Gregory Bonedeuce

Last post in this campaign

pirate-battleOur crew cheered as I lifted the severed head of our enemy above my own, and told his crew about his evil, and his greed, and his lies.

13th day of Lamashan, 4713 AR

When the plan was formed me and two people who couldn’t look someone in the eye and tell a simple lie went on to Bonedeuce’s boat, the cowherds were invisible, I however walked onto the boat in plain sight and told the first mate I wanted to explore the ship. The idiot believed me (as they all do) and began showing me the ship, when I saw a few of the cannons had been tampered with, I was pleased to know that my comrades had done their job at least halfway, which was more than I expected.

Then I heard some commotion from above deck, when I rushed up I saw our target fighting some of my friends. He didn’t live to tell the tale. At the end of the battle, Gregory Bonedeuce lay dead at our feet. Our crew cheered as I lifted the severed head of our enemy above my own, and told his crew about his evil, and his greed, and his lies. I told them about his devotion to those they called enemies, and about his plans, plans to destroy the very town they all swore to protect!

They heard me out, and chose to accept my word and pass them on to other towns, other cities, other nations.  I say let the adventure go on, no matter how many uncharismatic cowards get in my way I will adventure on.

I turned into a monkey, and a guard saw me and went to get me a bowl of nuts. When he went in, I made a sirocco come down and smite that one guard who was left on the front deck. When the guy came back out with the bowl, he saw battle ensue and grabbed me and took me inside. I turned into an earth elemental and bashed in his face. I still feel bad about that.

10th day of Lamashan, 4713 AR

We screwed up.  More accurately, they screwed up.

I wasn’t there, but stuff happened, and now we’re at the Pearl Eye Atolls, fugitives from the law, making an incredibly complex plan to kill Gregory B****adunce.

But let me explain how we got here.

We all headed up to our bar, Bonedeuce’s Treasure, hoping to grab out money, get to the Winddancer, and head to the Pearl Eye Atolls.  But it wasn’t that simple. Noooooo, it just had to be filled with Dragoons who were, you guessed it, trying to catch us.

We saw them, I turned into a monkey, Leonardo climbed up to the balcony invisible, and Thoran, Gorak and Fallens disguised themselves as a visiting noble family.

A guard saw me and went to get me a bowl of nuts that was inside.  When he went in, I made a sirocco come down and smite that one guard who was left on the front deck.  When the guy came back out with the bowl, he saw battle ensue and grabbed me and took me inside. I tried to summon an elemental, it failed, then I turned into an earth elemental and bashed in his face.  I still feel bad about that.

A large battle ensued, with most of us almost dying, but we ended up victorious and the bar was liberated.

When I got sober enough to stumble along and rejoin my friends, our Tulita buddies decided to call a meeting that it was probably worth it to us to come to. They’d decided to arm themselves…

8th day of Lamashan, 4713 AR

As told by the not so professional ship’s surgeon, dragonsmoke master, and dilettante gunslinger Gorak:

Well, it turns out my friends had another adventure. Without me. I’m kind of angry about that. It’s nothing big.

Just Garr Bloodbane’s gigantic hoard, found without me. I suppose that it’s kinda my fault, as much as theirs. I kinda, maybe, sorta fell into an applejack-and-dragonsmoke based mumbling tirade that lasted through the backstreets of the Bawd District. For two weeks. Sorry about that everyone.

Anyway, when I got sober enough to stumble along and rejoin my friends, our Tulita buddies decided to call a meeting that it was probably worth it to us to come to. They’d decided to arm themselves. Their leader had explained that the Dragoons were just looking for excuses to round up and lock up and maybe kill any last Tulita in the Razor.

Razor Coast 1, #22: A Joining of Ways

2nd day of Rova, 4713 AR

We found an island where there were dinosaurs. Skarru wanted to enlighten some of them but then a giant winged fire-breathing T-rex came over…

Under the ocean just west of Beacon Island, Fallens was out to gather wood with the Skum when they met a group of not-too-friendly looking adventurers. They looked like pretty good fighters too. She didn’t want them to think she was a threat, so she sighed and slipped on her gloves which pulsed with electricity. She was never one for combat.

Once the battle was done, she walked to the closest person and held out her hand, then she realized she still had her glove on and took it off and held out her hand again.

Fallens Sicarius,” she said, introducing herself.

Ziara Bloodbane,” said the woman. ”And this is my crew.” Fallens was taken aback. She realized she was talking to the group of adventurers who had been killing weresharks and saving many lives, she gladly gave the information that she had gathered by infiltrating the Skum for the Dragoons.

“The Skum I was infiltrating seem very rich,” said Fallens. “But they worship some Great Being below. So how did you get here?”

25th day of Arodus, 4713 AR

The Bonedeuce’s Pride sailed in and started shootin’ at every wereshark about and causin’ much chaos. And the Tulita started fightin’ the weresharks they did.

Welcome back! Pull up a chair and have a cold beer while I tell ye about the heroes of Port Shaw. You there! Let’s get a little fiddle goin’ to accompany me story.

When we left off, our heroes were in a desperate battle at the docks o’ Port Shaw. There were Weresharks and civilians and even a giant squid. So, as the battle entered full swing, three amazin’ things happened. One, the wereshark monster Jalamar rose out of the waves and entered the battle with the artifacts know as the Teeth of Dajobas, casting spells and slashing to and fro. Two, the Bonedeuce’s Pride sailed in and started shootin’ at every wereshark about and causin’ much chaos. Three, the Tulita started fightin’ the weresharks they did.

The cannons kept-a firin’ they did, and the heroes kept fightin’ until Jalamar was knocked to the ground. And as Bonedeuce’s Pride rescued the prisoners on the ship, Ziara, co-heir to the Bloodbane legacy, cut out Jalamar’s heart and fed it to her brother’s dragon.

Yar, my friends, that was a bloody and victorious day. One to be sung about for a long time.

But it didn’t end there, lads.

The Journal of Skarru Bloodbane

14th day of Arodus, 4713 AR

Well, that trip was certainly eventful, due to Diana dying and all.  Yep, got ripped apart by some f*%@ing sharks.  The sharks were bad, but her dying an’ all made it just a tad bit worse.  Just a bit.

I write this after we almost got killed in the place under Beacon Island.  There’s a new person in the party, Maxentius River-Star, a stupid oracle who can make bridges and rainbows.  Yeah, rainbows.  And bridges.  But anyway, we heard the weresharks were going to Port Shaw.  I can’t say when I will write again.  I don’t know what the future holds and if I will survive.

17th day of Arodus, 4713 AR

Shata swooped me around, I jumped down, did a three point landing, and said, “Port Shaw is burning! Let’s go!”

Oh…My…God. That was intense.  We met with Gregory Bonedeuce and when we finished, I took off on Shata (his giant roc –GM) and I saw that much of Port Shaw was burning.  Shata swooped me around, I jumped down, did a three point landing, and said, “Port Shaw is burning! Let’s go!” Shata picked up the party and I turned into a roc like him.

What happened then is blurry, but I remember fire, lightning, and screams.  There was the smell of burning shark meat (don’t ask how I know what that smells like) and Ziara stabbing a wereshark with a jeweled dagger and it turning on its brethren.  But I survived, and that’s what matters, I think. Well, I mean, before that we were at the Broken Skull and we fought a bunch of weresharks who were disguised as Dragoons, but before that we watched Vixio fight and own everyone.  It was a great couple of days.

Razor Coast 1, #18: Chimmy Chummy Boom Boom

A huge amount has happened since the last writeup because our adventurers have been more focused on making history than — ahem — writing history. Since we last heard from them, the party:

The lighthouse at Beacon Island — one of the many places the party explored.
  • cleared Bonegnaw’s drug-smuggling operation;
  • found an old Wave Rider who had lost his spellbook, and so they made an aborted exploration of an ancient necromancer’s lab in the sewers;
  • returned to the Dajobas temple in Blacksink Marsh to find an unhittable wight druid, only to black-out;
  • woke up alongside other adventurers as that druid’s prisoners, fought their way out, and found that the two groups of adventurers came from two different realities that had merged;
  • talked to the privateer Bethany Razor, who had heard the weresharks’ leader was in Beacon Island and suggested they sail out together because her dead husband Jacob Razor had died there;
  • sailed to Beacon Island, met a pseudodragon, investigated the lighthouse (where Fawkes Ransom would die to a mohrg), found the old ship Jacob Razor had died in, met his ghost, and recovered his bones, and left the island after they were attacked by aquatic gargoyles;
  • robbed Viscount Deepwarder’s mansion and became the target of an assassination attempt that the retired assassin Old Fish warned Ziara Bloodbane about;
  • started to establish their own inn, Bloodbane’s Treasure, after killing the owner who had joined in the assassination attempt;
  • competed in the Broken Skull’s unarmed fighting tournament, where their new vanaran monk friend Vixio started to rise through the ranks;
  • returned to Beacon Island to try to root out the leader of the weresharks before the coming full moon.

Bala Artemis Diana continues their tale…

-Grandmaster

13th day of Arodus, 4713 AR

So it all started with an idea. In fact, it was Nightflame’s idea. His idea was Operation Chimmy Chummy Boom Boom: the idea of a trojan fish filled with gunpowder barrels covered in chum to attract the weresharks in the underground lake beneath Beacon Island.

Nightflame would spark the fuse, then teleport away and it would blow up creating a shock wave that would kill the sharks.

So they tried the plan.
