In a missing chapter of our tale, the sponsor of their latest failed job, Lord Sinjin, gave them a new task: quit EJ Corp and get company shares to infiltrate a ship-construction facility and steal a secret experimental starship. They confronted a formidable set of guardians. The party’s vanguard, Iona Lonewhirl, continues their story. –GM
20th of Erastus, 321 AG (After Gap)
We were in the middle of an incredibly deadly battle. Mere meters before the doorway to the Oliphaunt’s hangar bay, a group of three android guard robots, a cleaning droid with knives on it, and some sort of 6-legged camouflaging sword-footed monster barred our way. While the other three valiant warriors kept the chaff off me, I squared up against the Beast.
It swung two bladed arms down toward me, catching my side and slamming me to the ground. My armor took the brunt of it, but it still hurt like fire. On the ground, I struck out with my foot, the universe’s latent entropy crackling around it. I slammed into the creature’s forelimb with the force of breaking atoms. It shattered, and the creature screamed and collapsed. A few more well-placed kicks, and its skull shattered. I wiped ichor from my boot, and watched my companions finish off their dance partners.
We proceeded through the door, and on towards our goal. The Oliphaunt was a really damn ugly ship. It was shaped like a hammer, if hammers were invented by a Kalistocrat who thought a form factor was a type of paperwork. It radiated “the cheapest ship on a dozen planets” energy. I hated it immediately. Also, it apparently had magic extradimensional cargo holds that have more space inside than outside. I despise this nonsense.
Luckily, we were gonna sell it off real quick. Lord Sinjin, the Drow buyer, had a secret base close by. We docked, and entered a nice little banquet hall with two Drow mafia enforcers as our hosts. Dinner started, and the gunmen spoke to each other in their language. All of a sudden, the lights went out, and they started shooting at us.
We had our guns out real quick, and stuff started to go downhill real quick. Their blasts hurt like hell, but I fought through the pain, and ran out to shatter one of their jaws. Right when we felt like we were on the front foot, some ninja lady started throwing shuriken at us. We lashed out with gun, blade, and fist, and after a few tense moments, we took her down.
After that, we fled on our ugly piece-of-junk ship. I don’t like it any more now. But at least no one on board is trying to kill me.
