New Custom Race: The Hyewan

Very little is known about this elusive race, they tend to stay far from humanoid civilization, and they start their own kingdoms in places uninhabitable to most intellegent life. Even stranger, is that in the ancient times of golden age Shurima, ascended men took the forms of more powerful versions of these creatures. When they do come out from the shadows however, they can make unstoppable adventurers.

Darkvision 60 ft – Medium – Base speed 30 ft

Similar to Aasimars and Tieflings, Hyewanians have make up several subspecies with differing stats and abilities, the rules for each are listed below:

Doglike 15RP

  • +2 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Wisdom Doglike Hyewanians are strong and fast, but tend to be impatient

 

  • Ancient foe: Members of this race gain +2 dodge bonus to AC and +2 on grapple checks against feline opponents
  • Cornered Fury: When under half HP and hs no conscious ally within 30 ft, gains +2 AC and +2 on melee attack rolls
  • Fearless: +2 on saving throws against fear effects
  • Sprinter: Members of this race gain a +10 foot racial bonus to their speed when using the charge, run, or withdraw actions.
  • Bite(x2): Members of this race gain a bite natural attack dealing 1d4 damage

 

Lizardlike 14RP

  • +2 Dexterity, +2 Constitution, -2 Charisma Lizardlike Hyewanians are agile and hardy, however they are emotionally distant to other races

 

  • Improved Natural Armor: +1 Natural Armor bonus to AC
  • Camouflage: Gains +4 on Stealth checks made in desert or forest terrain(Player’s choice)
  • Sneaky: +4 on stealth checks
  • Climb: Members of this race have a climb speed of 20 ft and gain +8 on climb checks

 

Reptilian 15RP

  • +2 Strength, +2 Constitution, -2 Charisma Reptilian Hyewanians are powerful and tough, but are generally seen as liars or brutes
  • Improved Natural Armor: +1 Natural Armor bonus to AC

 

  • Plagueborn: Members of this race gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against disease, ingested poisons, and becoming nauseated or sickened.
  • Stability:  Members of this race receive a +4 racial bonus to their CMD when resisting bull rush or trip attempts while standing on the ground.
  • Swim: Members of this race have a swim speed of 30 feet and gain the +8 racial bonus on Swim checks that a swim speed normally grants.

 

Rodentlike 15RP

  • +2 Dexterity, +2 Intelligence, -2 Charisma Rodentlike Hyewanians are fast and resourceful, but are ugly and tend to be unsanitary

 

  • Plagueborn: Members of this race gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against disease, ingested poisons, and becoming nauseated or sickened.
  • Scavenger:  Members of this race gain a +2 racial bonus on Appraise and Perception checks to find hidden objects (including traps and secret doors), determine whether food is spoiled, or identify a potion by taste.
  • Silent Hunter: Members of this race reduce the penalty for using Stealth while moving by 5 and can make Stealth checks while running at a –20 penalty (this number includes the penalty reduction from this trait).
  • Sneaky: +4 on stealth checks

 

Domestian(Hoglike, Cowlike, Lamb/Goatlike) 15RP

  • +2 Constitution, +2 Charisma, -2 Intelligence Domestian Hyewanians are tough, likable and easygoing, but usually aren’t bright

 

  • Swarming: Members of this race are used to living and fighting communally with other members of their race. Up to two members of this race can share the same square at the same time. If two members of this race that are occupying the same square attack the same foe, they are considered to be flanking that foe as if they were in two opposite squares.
  • Natural Attack: Members of this race have the hoof natural attack dealing 1d4 damage
  • Powerful Charge: When members of this race charge, they deal 2d4 damage plus their strength bonus
  • All-Around Vision: Members of this race have some way of seeing all around them, granting them a +4 racial bonus on Perception checks and making them immune to flanking.
  • Bond to the Land: Members of this race gain a +2 dodge bonus to AC when in a specific terrain type selected from the ranger’s list of favored terrains. This choice is made at character creation, and cannot be changed.
  • Stability: Members of this race receive a +4 racial bonus to their CMD when resisting bull rush or trip attempts while standing on the ground.
