Wrath of the Righteous #1: The Perpetual Light of Radiance

25 Jun

Our heroes survived the invasion of Kenabres by the balor demon Khorramzadeh. Then, after the invasion had passed, they carried out a strike against the remaining demons and destroyed the cracked wardstone that the demons were trying to corrupt. This act foiled the demons’ plans, caused the wardstones across the border between Mendev and the Worldwound to explode, destroying legions of demons, and infused the party with mythic power! At the same time, the loss of the wardstones now leads Mendev vulnerable to invasion once the demons regroup. The Fifth Crusade has begun! –GM

22nd day of Sarenith, 4716 AR

James got mad and pulled out Radiance, and then all the paladins bowed down.

We were told by Queen Galfrey that our quest was to take back the city of Drezen and reclaim the legendary Sword of Valor. We were given a company of 100 Level 4 paladins. We only brought half of them, while the other half of the party left early with the other half.

After hours of walking, it was the first night and the paladin James pulled out Radiance (the legendary longsword wielded by Yaniel during the Fourth Crusade –GM), so I started to play sad music on my violin and got everybody’s attention. Then all the paladins started crying into 5 wine bottles. Then James got mad and pulled out Radiance, and then all the paladins bowed down.

On the second day, we were walking and we saw about a mile ahead some kind of deformed-looking creatures that we thought were demons, so I made a knowledge planes check to see if they were demons. We were told they are demon-like so we charged at them. While we charged at them, the paladins yelled “For Radiance and sad, sad music!” While we got closer to them, we realized they were tieflings. Then we attacked them, and we killed all but two. One got away and we caught one.

After we caught him, we told him to go to Iz and he said no, so James stabbed his thigh and poured wine on it as he shrieked in pain. We told him to go to Iz and he still refused, so Unit 11 stabbed his bicep with an arrow and poured lemon juice on it. Then the tiefling said okay okay I will go to Iz. I immediately sensed he was lying, and we threw him to the ground, and he said how will you know if i go to Iz? Then I made a bluff check to say we will go there and find you there after you warn the people of Iz after the fight.

I was playing music, and then James got everybody’s attention and made a speech and after the speech James said now eat lunch.

tiefling

After we caught him, we told him to go to Iz and he said no, so James ***CENSORED***. We told him to go to Iz and he still refused, so Unit 11 ***CENSORED***. Then the tiefling said okay okay I will go to Iz. I immediately sensed he was lying, and we ***CENSORED***…

After about a day, we found two armies and killed both of them. Then at night, James and I got drunk and were sleeping while Unit 11 was keeping watch and everybody else was asleep. Unit 11 heard a rip from the back of the tent and he went behind the the tent and saw an incubus, the demon from the two armies we fought that day. James and I wake up, and Unit 11 knocked out the incubus with some help from me, while James was useless. After that, James decapitated the unconscious incubus and put his head on Radiance and woke up all the paladins and took all the credit for killing the incubus.

After that, we were walking to drezen, and we encountered 2 teleporting monsters and the paladins wanted to see if we really were mythic from the corrupted wardstone explosion. James and Unit 11 said yes, while I said no so we don’t draw attention to ourselves, and we ended up using mythic power anyways. After we beat the monsters it was to be continued.
