14th day of Neth, 4715 AR, Early morning
Due to Valestar’s good idea of starting a journal, I have decided to start one of my own (it will be much more interesting than his journal of course).
Our tale begins in a room with a domed ceiling. Most of the floor is covered in a brown pus which is shooting out of a geyser in the middle of room. It is to my knowledge that Valestar ended his entry with Sean killing two of the bat swarms. All four of the flying demons were now invisible, but we had other things to worry about. Twenty Dire Rats emerged from the pool, pus dripping off their matted fur. Now Dire Rats are something we can handle, but TWENTY! Even I was beginning to get worried. To make matters worse, the demons continued to summon bat swarms to make us bleed.
Our powerful kineticist Sean was the only one who could damage swarms, and with his luck this would take a while. While the two gunslingers healed bleeding (John Cena’s Sister and Drun Ken Sayler), Valestar whined about how greater cleave would be so useful right now. Me and the others were just focused on staying alive.
After the rats came centipedes, ten of them. There were about eight rats left to kill, and this new addition to the “List of stuff we need to kill” was not received very well by the party. It took us a while to kill all the rats and centipedes, but after that was done we felt good.
Then right in front of Valestar the demons appear. They are ugly little bastards with huge heads and small bodies. They proceed to attack him without so much as a hello. I am sure that monsters will continue to come out of the pus unless we do something. Then I remember the statue with the necklace of hands. I make some knowledge checks and figured out that the left hand was holy to the group of healers that took refuge here. I run over to the statue in the alcove and cut the necklace of left hands off. Instantly the pool stops bubbling. We all let out a sigh of relief. We finish off the rest of the demons and leave the fabled dungeon Rappan Athuk.
18th day of Neth, Morning
It has been four days since the incident with the baddies and I have been too tired to write since then. Here is a summary of what happened. Sleep. Oh, and I forgot to mention that we all got this horrible disease (except those of us who are immune to disease). We did some research on this disease and it seems that the only way you can get it is through an open wound. If you don’t remember we were standing in a foot of pus, covered in cuts from the bats. It’s not too bad but it is going to cost a lot to get it cured.
25th day of Neth, Noon
We have decided to go to Pizza Town to try to sell some medicine books that we found. They are worth 780 gold but the town healer will only pay 680. We meet a group of soldiers on their way to the capital Nerosyan, and they say they will pay us if we go with them. Everyone agrees because we get gold, we can sell the books there for a higher price, and Vv and Valestar need armor for their animal companions.
30th day of Kuthona, Evening
We have returned from our five-week trip to the capital. The soldiers thanked us and paid us each twenty eight gold. Drun Ken Sayler had a great time dancing for the townspeople to gain a grand total of FOUR GOLD!!! We each spent 145 gold to get our disease removed. I am very tired from our long trip and I’m going to sleep now.
1st day of Abadius, 4716 AR, Morning
We are back in the dungeon for the first time in five weeks. We went into the domed room to look for treasure, but more monsters started coming out of the pus so we ran. We went into this hall with three doors. The first room was empty, the second was another hall, and the third was a room with a table that had rusty surgeon’s tools on it. We spent a long time looking for hidden compartments under the table. Then Blizzard blew up the table with a crossbow bolt. We continued into a room that had three tables. In one corner of the room, there were ten more rats, two zombies and one Mama rat. Valestar and Drun Ken Sayler were surrounded on all sides. But thanks to fighting defensively, they killed them easily. This will be my last entry for awhile; be patient and more entries will follow.
