2nd day of Neth, 4715 AR
In the beginning, we decided to investigate some of the unknown areas in the Mouth of Doom to expand on our map. We discovered a room with two dormant iron snakes curled around poles on both sides of a staircase leading downward in the center of the room. Several of the group were suspicious of the snakes, so we used the surprise round killing one of the snakes which caused the other snake to slither into a striking pose. However, before it could react, we quickly and violently murdered it.
We returned to the old hallway where we had chased the kobold. This ended in another set of stairs going down. I, Drun Ken Sayler, immediately pulled out the map because I had a theory of where the staircase would lead to, but the group decided against going down the staircase. We instead returned to the entrance room where I attempted to walk around a pit, but fell in instead. While in the pit I looked around noticing a secret tunnel that led to the staircase in the old hallway. I rejoined the group and we headed for home to rest.
During our fish dinner which the Kobold had caught for us, we had a dry lengthy discussion about where to venture tomorrow. Finally, it was agreed upon that we would go see what was stopping traffic on the Old Path. When I finished, I retired to my room and snuggled my cuttlefish in my pond.
As the sun rose, we grabbed our gear and hurried down the Old Path to take care of the problem. Eventually we got to the fort. Before we entered, the gnolls engaged us in an intimidation battle which no one really won, but unfortunately for us alerted the enemies in the castle to our presence. We quickly rushed in, killing the gnolls while arrows rained down on us by goblins. While trying to escape the rain of arrows, we made our way to the stables to hide until we realized IT’S JUST GOBLINS! The door opened and we proceeded to kill the goblins while taking their leader prisoner.
Some of us wanted to move into the castle, but no decision was agreed upon yet.
