Razor Coast #32: It’s Not Easy Being Mythic

I decided to fly over so I could negotiate with their captain. I realized that their ship was two times larger than ours in every dimension of measurement and that the crew was all frost giants!

30th day of Lamashan, 4713 AR

With great power comes a great chance of a TPK.

After taking the trinkets from the earth mother, Rukus, Sarisa, Nolgrin, Lily, and I were all first filled with newfound power and knowledge. We thanked the earth mother and walked 16 or so miles back to Port Shaw. It was the 24th of Lamashan, and we knew we had only until the 8th of Neth to get the tear’s of last remorse and quiet the anger of Pele the fire goddess in the volcano. We slept for the night, dreaming of our new abilities.

When we awoke, we went the docks and readied the stolen Dragoon ship, and prepped for our journey to Arakau, which we soon learned was once called The Kraken’s Maw and avoided by sailors.

Three days through the voyage, our crew saw a massive ship sailing a flag of a snow-topped mountain. It was 1200 feet away, so I decided to fly over so I could negotiate with their captain. I realized that their ship was two times larger than ours in every dimension of measurement and that the crew was all frost giants! Then, they started throwing rocks, and, from 600 feet away, one actually hit me! So to protect against further damage I turned Into a giant squid and submerged. I swam until I was 200 feet away, then floated up. With a line of sight, I cast fire storm and used some mythic power. They all exploded and all but one caught on fire. Before they had time to burn to death, I cast flame strike and used some mythic power. Four more died, leaving two alive. They’re calling each other’s names, probably they are, or were, a couple. She burns to death, and he starts yelling and screaming.

During this time, Nolgrin and Elliott were swimming veeeery sloooooowly. Now that they’d gotten here, they climbed up and finished off the giant, but they only knocked him out. We found some sugar and other trade goods. Then, we interrogated the giant and learned that a few ships, including theirs, were blown off course by a storm. We made a deal to revive his girlfriend and help him get back to his homeland if he worked for us.

We moved on to a circle of 50-foot tall obelisks, which had statues on top that turned out to be mythic gargoyles…

After another day, we arrived at the island. We sent a smaller boat to get through the coral surrounding the island and saw that the island was covered in religious statues. Then we moved on to a circle of 50-foot tall obelisks, which had statues on top that turned out to be mythic gargoyles. We tried to fight back, but they could take lots of damage. Even my mythic firestorm did almost nothing. My dinosaur took on two alone while Nolgrin, Elliott, Rukus, and Lily took one down and were fighting a second. I rushed to my companion just as he was knocked unconscious. Lily was also down, Nolgrin and Rukus were out of healing potions, and were at half hp.

I flew into the air and did the elemental hulk sky smash on the other two, which went down after a few punches. Rukus did some crazy jump/dive punch that took the last one out. Nolgrin healed us all to full health, and we retrieved a stone bowl at the top of the center pillar, which caused a greater surge of power and knowledge, just like the one we got from our trinkets.

That’s all. So never give up, never surrender, unless of course, your healer never shows up.

Signing off, Erynis (Enzo)

Oy, I thought I’d removed every reference to Nlarktor. But yeah Enzo thought your name was Nlarktor throughout 🙂
