Iron Gods (The Divinity Drive) #3: First Contact

04 Jul

16th day of Sarenith, 4716 AR

We were eager to meet this leader, so we willingly surrendered ourselves to the lashuntas.

We were eager to meet this leader, so we willingly surrendered ourselves to the lashuntas.

Last time, we saw our heroes blinding each other and interrogating lashunta. As the questions began, and were promptly ignored, the adventurers saw lashunta women magically flying over the trees and giant two-legged beasts storming through the underbrush.

“Drop your weapons! We take you to see Prosser, our great and glorious leader.”

We were eager to meet this leader, so we willingly surrendered ourselves to the lashuntas. We were tied and bound before being brought to their leader.

When we arrived, we saw an odd half dino half man creature. He spoke to the sisters, the women who captured us earlier. He proved to not be one for small talk and it wasn’t long until Romulus broke his bonds and attacked all enemies. Maxson, M0n5t3r, and Steel were still bound. Our tp wizard, Viole, teleported out of his bonds and started to summon allies. I shouted words of chaos and confused and stunned our enemies. Mon5t3r attacked a bound Roger Maxson because he was under the control of one of the sisters. Romulus continued to beat the leader while he was stunned by the powerful chaotic words I was saying. As the fight continued around me, I was able to break free of my bonds with a supreme feat of strength. By the time I was free, our wizard Viole had finished his summoning from beyond our plane. The gibbering mouther, which he named after me, stunned our opponents for enough time to help the others in our party that were in dangerous situations. As the wizard and I created walls of blades and clouds of frost, more enemies approached and began to engage our friends. The Lashunta and their beasts were disheartened by the loss of their leader. However, they still fought on.

We were eventually able to take down our foes but not without taking grievous wounds ourselves. I was able to heal the rest of the part. Romulus punched and burst open a giant tank of ionizing fuel that was stored there, and electrocuted himself.

We all went to sleep to get some rest. However, in the middle of the night a laser came out of the wall, locked onto Mon5t3r and mind-controlled him into attacking my defenseless sleeping form. He slashed into me with his sword arm and I woke the rest of the party before I was injured too badly. I attempted to dispel the magic that was controlling him, but the creator of that spell was too powerful for me to stop. He was eventually held down by Romulus but I was awoken too early by this attack and therefore did not have my spells.

I attempted to get more rest and prepare the rest of my spells call. However we were soon interrupted by a band of Lashunta. They wanted to know what had happened here, and they were questioning about the whereabouts of their leaders. Mon5t3r was able to convince them that their leaders were inside, and that they were doing fine. Some were concerned but only one person understood the language so, naturally, they believe what he said. I locked myself in a chamber of stone and got the rest I needed to ready my spells.

Prosser’s notes revealed that he was once a member of the Technic League but had placed himself as leader of the lashuntas years ago. He had them worshiping the god “Unity” and harvest fruits that he converted into the fuel. His notes also revealed that a box of technological gear was sunk to the bottom of the nearby lake.

Later in the day, we ventured out from the growth area and headed over towards the lake. As we drew closer to a building at the lake edge, we saw two froghemoths rising out of the waves and we knew it was time for another fight…
