Month of Gozran, 4680 AR
(Excerpts from Diary of John Snow, Paladin of the Greenbelt Kingdom)
We made some new friends this afternoon. A creature named Roll Weed. She had a little friend named Yo who seemed to love alcohol. We let him try some of the Potion ingredients and he seemed happy enough.
Construction is going well on the house. The Kobolds aren’t the most reliable but they get the job done. Going to be a God awful amount of money that we don’t have. To be honest, money would solve most of our problems. We have been given a job to track down a bear. We don’t know if it is the same one Oasîn tamed yesterday. We also need to find an old temple to the farming god Erastil. And, as always, there’s more land to explore.
We added new members to our party today. We dropped off Saro at Oleg’s and picked up a Charlyze, a Cleric of Lamashtu. Why anyone would worship that horrible hag is really beyond me. Anyway, we are heading out to explore to the west. Hopefully we find that old temple we are looking for.
We made some new friends this afternoon. A creature named Roll Weed. She had a little friend named Yo who seemed to love alcohol. We let him try some of the Potion ingredients and he seemed happy enough. Roll Weed, on the other hand was an extremely valuable help. She knows about the temple we are looking for but she says there is a “Guardian” of some sort there…Map
We found gold today. We will have to head back to Oleg’s and get some prospectors to help us mine it , but it will help our kingdom funds to no end.
We reached the temple today. It was overgrown but still recognizable. We fought a giant bear and Ur almost died. It was a hard battle, but at the end we found out that it had been possessed.
… Here ends the excerpt. There were other details about exploring the extreme west of the land described under the group’s Charter, fighting giant frogs at some hot springs, and finding an ancient tribal burial mound where a skeleton with a crushed skull wore a magical ring of swimming made of green wood with an eel and a frog locked in combat.
As always, I was most surprised that the Paladin of this party kept notes on the adventure, and even more surprised when I came across this writing. When I was on one of my *Ahem* visiting trips to the rich households of Port Shaw, I came across yet another diary. I added this to my collection of diaries that retold the story of the Greenbelt Heroes, and I intend to find more, as this story intrigues me.
