Chapter 1 of Rise of the Runelords will conclude soon, so it’s time to start thinking about what folks in the weekend groups want to do next! I will start one of these campaigns below soon and will continue into the summer! Contact me if you are interested!
#1. Rappan Athuk
Rappan Athuk is not for the faint of heart! Its diabolical traps, tricks, strange features, and monsters will force you to think smart and use your wits. Never before beaten by RPG players anywhere (without cheating), the conclusion of this megadungeon has you facing off with legions vomited forth by Hell and you may event contend with the archdevil Orcus himself! Rappan Athuk takes characters up to level 20 and beyond. Because this dungeon is difficult, my rules change — you can use Advanced Races, and death is frequent so you won’t get an XP penalty for dying.
#2. Razor Coast
Do you like the idea of being a pirate, rigging a ship, and going wherever you want in a tropical archipelago full of danger? Razor Coast is a Caribe-Polynesian flavored, Age of Sail swashbuckling RPG campaign by acclaimed adventure writer Nic Logue. Says Mr. Logue: “We filled it with corrupt municipal Dragoons, dastardly smuggling rings, weresharks – lots of weresharks – desperate naval battles, oppressed tribes craving heroes, witches, cursed islands, legendary treasure troves, an impending apocalypse or two, demon pirates, retired assassins, undead worms, gator men, failed heroes waiting to be redeemed, dark conspiracies brewing in the oceans depths, vengeful ghosts…oh – and mutating cannibal pygmies. Who doesn’t like those?”
#3. Rise of the Runelords, Chapter 2: The Skinsaw Murders
In this next chapter of the award-winning Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path, the challenges become even greater, as a sudden string of brutal killings terrorizes Sandpoint and the killer leaves a strange, distinctive mark on all of its victims. Your investigation into the murders has you combating ghouls, haunted mansions and other horrors, takes you out of your home town to intrigues within the big city of Magnimar, and begins to uncover the conspiracy that is at the heart of your quest!
#4. Shattered Star, Chapter 2: Curse of the Lady’s Light
Your quest to reunite the seven fragments of Ancient Thassilon’s most powerful artifact takes you out of Magnimar to the swampy Mushfens south of the city, where an ancient, towering lighthouse known as “The Lady’s Light” has rested for millennia. But the threats posed by the squabbling tribes and swamp monsters surrounding the ruins pale in comparison to the soldiers who have claimed it, and to the sinister curse that dwells within.
#5. Wrath of the Righteous
How do you feel about stopping a demonic invasion? Your party is stationed near the Worldwound, and the ancient wardstones that have held back the ravenous demonic horde are starting to falter. The armies of Deskari, the demon lord of the Locust Host, threaten to swallow the world! Because you are taking on demons and their commanders, this will be the first Adventure Path to use Pathfinder’s upcoming Mythic Rules to make your characters almost into demi-gods, and/or you can go up to 20th level. (The Wrath of the Righteous Adventure Path will start coming out in August 2013.)
Do you want to clear land for your own kingdom and run it? This campaign is a slow build, as you begin as first-level adventurers given a charter to clear an untamed wilderness to found and build a kingdom. Eventually, you will find yourselves dividing up responsibilities to manage a burgeoning kingdom, handling petitions from citizens, and defending it from invaders! Throughout the campaign, your time is spent exploring and mapping an unknown wilderness. This is one of Paizo’s most popular Adventure Paths (second to Rise of the Runelords), and for good reason.
